Poster Contest

For as far back as I can remember, I always loved to be creative! My passion was for art and I loved to draw (some of it can still be found inside book covers and underneath furniture at my parent's house!)

I also enjoyed crafty things and making my own little projects and inventions. My entrepreneurial spirit started at a young age, and before I was even a teenager, I had a little business painting custom pictures of wedding and baby announcements on wooden plaques and selling them to my neighbors! It was a lot more fun and paid a bit better than cutting the grass!

I also enjoyed writing long before I even knew what a PIO (Public Information Officer) was, and I was writing my own stories and putting them together in my own little newsletter (using carbon paper to make the "multiple" copies!) I was secretary of the club that all the neighborhood girls had formed so I would have to publish the club notes using my grandmother's old typewriter.

Sometimes, I would get so inspired by a field trip that our class would take that I would have to write an account of the whole trip in a several page book complete with full color illustrations. (I still have a couple of those stored away!)

My passion is still graphic design, writing and marketing, and I still have the passion, creativity and enthusiasm that I had as a child. When you enjoy what you do, it pours out in your work! I feel so fortunate to have been in so many work opportunities where I found joy in the work that I was doing. That is truly a gift!

I appreciate your interest! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me via this website!

Thanks again!

One of my favorite things to do on the side is "face painting." My supplies fill an entire backpack to the point the zippers are hard to zip! But I enjoy the challenge of "winging it" when people ask for something unique for me to paint, and enjoy watching people look in the mirror and seeing the expressions on their faces when they look at their "transformed" faces. For samples of some of the people I've painted, see the next page! (Lorie's Story)
